Beata Tranq Tidbit
BEATA TRANQVILLITAS (Blessed or Happy Tranquility). A celestial globe placed on a cippus, inscribed VOTIS XX; stars above.
Banduri gives this from a third brass of Licinius II, as struck between AD 317 and 323. It would seem to be the first occurrence of this legend, which afterwards appears in the mint of Crispus, and others of the family of Constantine the Great, to whose government the tranquil state of the empire is ascribed.
